I'm one of the rare breeds that actually prefers Suikoden I, having played it about 6 years before II and also having it teach an myself (an 8 year old) that gameplay is more important than graphics gives it more sentimental value. I liked the story more too.

Not particularly sure why the title needs to contain 'secretly'. How many people even remember the name of FC3's main character let alone prefer him over Vaas? Pretty much the same could be said about portal but it's a little unfair comparing a villain to a silent protagonist.

Both dogs have had their day. Battlefield is the series I'm more fond of given the only 2 COD games I liked were 2 & 4 but BF4 was a joke and has really put me off the series. I think it's okay for COD to be stale because at this point, it's practically a sport like FIFA but BF is different and needs variety.

Anecdotal but IMO the UK is an MS stronghold yet also slow adopters, especially the demographic that's likely to purchase FIFA. I would have thought 360 would have still just topped the charts.

Notable omission of every Square-enix game from the past 3 years which despite actually reaching those millions of sales, still obviously heavily underperformed.

Guys, you gotta understand, the Sims 4 engine simply isn't built to handle review builds. Why, we should be utterly grateful they went to the effort of making the engine handle create-a-sim.

I for one will be pre-ordering even The Sims 5 even though it will have to sacrifice engine support for sims for the sake of the better user experience.

Sounds like author couldn't find enough games to either make an upcoming FPS list or already released FPS list, as 6/9 games on here are unreleased.

Also a typical clickbait with all games on a separate page and 1 or 2 sentences of description with a youtube trailer...

I find the article a bit baffling and assumption based. It's also seemingly taking the perspective that collectively, third parties are at fault. I doubt there's conspiracy against Nintendo being top dog at all, it seems more of like a hilarious fanboy delusion to defend it.

'Why are they doing this? Because they don’t want dedicated COD fans to know that they can play COD online for FREE on the Wii U. A lot of them would buy a Wii U just for COD and Activision...

Brutal Legend's mediocre gameplay for me was by far outweighed by how much it exploded my interest in metal. Not to mention the world looked so awesome and fun to explore. The cutscenes were really entertaining unlike most games too. At the end of the day though, it didn't do much that a movie couldn't deliver on though. A shame really, a bit more refinement on the gameplay and it would have been a real... legend (don't kill me, pls.)

Forgiven my friend, few can resist my compelling posts.

Honestly I wouldn't be looking for a simple list saying the very best mods. People's opinions vary and it isn't always the biggest and most ambitious mods that make the difference but lots of small ones.

That said, when it comes to fundamental gameplay changes, the fewer the better really. Skyrim Redone is my preferred big overhaul as it improves vanilla greatly without straying far from the ...

SkyRe and interesting NPCs are my favourites. The latter just adds so many cool NPCs to the game in locations otherwise neglected that actually have a huge amount of dialogue. I wouldn't be surprised if the amount of NPC to Player dialogue is equal or greater than all vanilla NPCs combined, since they have so little. Not to mention the script is typically witty which makes it much more satisfying than vanilla's.

Tropical mod is definitely a cool one try out if you get...

Indeed, I'd say the Suikoden franchise is rather overlooked, would be nice to see a proper revival. I never quite understood why people (article author included) only give Suikoden 2 a shoutout and not the original though...

Whilst 2 improves upon the gameplay, the first was rather novel with how many characters you could recruit and had just as of a story if not better. I prefer the more tragedy orientated story of the first.

Personally I didn't hav...

Ignoring how bad the list is, given it's full of platform exclusives, no just console, it dosen't even explain why it should be on PC.

I mean how mean people thought Nintendo missed a big opportunity by not releasing Ocarina of Time on PC? Yet the author just says ' This game also should be released for PC.' without any further explaination.

Most of these are Sony exclusives yet it's Halo 3 being one of the few I'd agree with. Given ...

I'm no expert on the MMORPG scene but isn't the alternative to having heroes is having games like Runescape (I haven't played it in 9 years, so who knows what stuff they've added since) where you just grind and don't have any real abilities?

I guess I'd agree there's too much scaling in MMOs though. Part of what puts me off them is the grind and difference between levels. I like games that put players on even terms, which is why I'm heavily int...

I used to rely way more on reviews as a kid with limited income and wanting to buy full price games, so reviews did help guide my purchase. These days reviews mean a lot less to me. A metacritic score is useful for telling if the game is bad, but I don't find reviews helpful when choosing between highly scored games.

I think companies' marketing is playing a bigger role in getting to know game without relying on journalist's reviews and previews. That said, gettin...

I don't think I've ever stuck with one brand of console for backwards compatability to be a problem. I can see the issue when a new generation comes out and you're starved for games. I seldom play anything more than three years old anyway and with PC being my main platform, it isn't even an issue.

That said, maybe I would be more tempted to get a PS4 if I could play some of the PS3 games I missed out on but I can see why backwards compatability isn't there...

I think if MS keeps up the lip service like this, in 10 years Linux will be the major gaming OS of choice if Valve see success with steambox and OS. Perhaps it's more due to the console oriented nature of the site but even DX12 has been marketed mostly as an XB1 upgrade.

MS just have outright abandoned some of the big names they were famous for in the past. How about making an actual modern sequel to those strategy games of the past? By which I don't mean some doomed ...

Both this, and their previous article that it's mentioning ( http://www.redbull.com/uk/e... could drastically be improved by just not saying dead. They both are not actually bad pieces, they've just made some stupid assumption that not having the quality and respect they once had equals them being dead. Perhaps stale and fresh would be better terms?

Pretty nice, if a bit obvious tips for competitive gaming, stuff I've done a lot of and its helped me improve.

The only thing I'd point out is specialising. It isn't alawys good. From playing Dota, playing exclusively one hero may help you win, but in the long run it'll hinder you, because you won't have the wider understanding. Having tendencies to go for one role over another based on your skill is ok, but don't neglect the rest, a good carry player...

This guy is a bit COD 3 obsessed. Why doesn't he just go and play battlefield if he wants classes and vehicles etc? I was one of the few guys that stuck to the boycott MW2 and haven't bought an activision game since and this won't change but this list is just awful. It's laughable he's made a list like this after just one trailer.

He firstly says futuristic won't work based on one game then calls the series out for being stale. He just seems like a per...
